How long will my remodel project take?
The length of the job depends on the type and scope of the project as well as the lead times on some products like cabinets, countertops, and shower doors. Product availability and lead times are usually confined to the time between ordering and the start of your project. Projects like countertop replacement will usually take only two to three days. Shower replacement is about five to seven working days, a normal hall bath about three weeks, a master bath three to five weeks, and kitchens between two to seven weeks. We pride ourselves on being transparent and up-front about costs and lead times, and our project managers ensure that your remodel will run smoothly and on schedule.

What is the best material for kitchen counters?
Today, quartz is the most popular counter material followed by solid surfacing like Corian. Quartz is a harder stone-like material that will resist scratching better than solid surface tops, but solid surface tops can be repaired much easier than quartz. Both materials allow undermounted sinks but solid surface sinks can be integrally fabricated onto the top leaving no joint. Granite tops have faded in popularity and laminate tops are rarely used in new remodel projects. A new material, sheet porcelain, provides a very hard, scratch-resistant top that also will withstand high heat.

Can you remove walls?
We typically are able to remove walls. We will first need to assess the structural restrictions and also reroute any plumbing, ductwork, and wiring that may be within the existing wall.

Can I get a larger shower?
Yes. Our unique capacity to make custom solid surface shower bases allows making use of every inch of space available. Even 2" to 3" of width can provide a much roomier shower. Removing a built-in linen closet or expanding into an adjacent room or closet can provide room to rearrange the bath and get the shower you will be excited to use.

Do I need a tub?
This question comes up frequently when working with clients in their 50s and above. They may have only one bathroom with a tub shower but find it cumbersome and dangerous to climb over the tub ledge to shower. Our answer is to do what suits your needs. Someone buying your home years from now can always convert it back to a tub if they want.

When is a permit needed?
A building permit is generally required for any construction or remodeling project that involves modifications to the structure, layout, systems, or safety features of a building. Each municipality has its own set of regulations regarding building permits and inspections. To ensure compliance with these rules, we work closely with the Cities, Towns, and Villages we serve, carefully adhering to the specific requirements of each jurisdiction.

As part of the permitting process, inspections are a critical component. We proactively coordinate with the issuing authorities to ensure that all required inspections are scheduled and completed promptly, allowing the project to remain on track and within the designated timeline.
